A 51-year-old Yorktown Heights woman was arrested Oct. 20 after police responded to a report of a vehicle stopped in the roadway, according to Yorktown police.
Denise M. Francis was charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol concentration of more than 0.18 percent, both unclassified misdemeanors. She was also charged with refusing to take a breath test, a traffic infraction.
Police said officers responded to the area of East Main Street and Stony Street around 7:04 p.m. after a passerby reported that a woman had stopped her vehicle in the roadway and might need assistance.
Following an investigation, officers determined that Francis had allegedly been driving while intoxicated. She was arrested and transported to Yorktown Police Department headquarters for processing.
Francis was issued traffic tickets and released on her own recognizance to a responsible third party.
She was scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court late last week.
