A 24-year-old Bronx woman was arrested Oct. 22 after allegedly breaking into a vehicle in Yorktown and stealing more than $3,000 worth of property, according to Yorktown police.

Kelly Santana, 24, was charged with third-degree grand larceny, a class D felony; third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a class E felony; third-degree criminal mischief, a class E felony; third-degree identity theft, a class A misdemeanor.

Police said officers responded to the area of Hill Boulevard around 10:19 a.m. Oct. 14 for a report of a larceny from a vehicle.

Santana allegedly smashed a window of the vehicle with an object and stole property valued at more than $3,000. Police also allege she used a credit card stolen from the victim to purchase goods.

An investigation by officers and detectives identified Santana as a suspect and led police to obtain an arrest warrant, authorities said.

On Oct. 22, Yorktown police learned Santana was in the custody of the Westchester County Department of Correction on unrelated charges. She was transported to Yorktown Police Department headquarters for arrest processing.

Santana was arraigned in Yorktown Justice Court before Judge Aviah Cohen-Pierson and released on her own recognizance before being returned to county custody.

She is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Wednesday, Nov. 11.
