Yorktown woman charged with burglary

Police said she entered home intending to commit unlawful surveillance

YORKTOWN, N.Y. —A 44-year-old Yorktown woman has been charged with felony burglary after an alleged break-in at a home in town to unlawfully record the victim, Yorktown Police said on Friday. 

Just before midnight on Wednesday, June 25, police said one of its officers responded to a residence on the report of a domestic incident. An investigation alleged that Wendy Acevedo-Zsigrai unlawfully entered the home with the intent to commit a crime involving unlawful surveillance, police said. The address of the alleged break-in was not provided by Yorktown Police.

Acevedo-Zsigrai was later contacted by police and the department said that she agreed to respond to headquarters, where she was arrested.

She was arraigned on a charged of second-degree burglary, a class C felony and was released after posting $5,000 bail. 

Acevedo-Zsigrai is due to appear in court on Tuesday, July 1 at 5:30 p.m.
