A 23-year-old Hinsdale, Illinois, man was arrested April 30 and charged with second-degree assault, a class D felony, following a stabbing in Yorktown, police said.
Officers responded to 482 Underhill Ave., one of Release Recovery’s two transitional living sites in the Yorktown Heights area, after a report of a possible stabbing. The program offers sober living support and is designed to assist individuals recovering from substance use disorders.
When officers arrived, they found a victim with what appeared to be a stab wound to the left shoulder.
The victim was transported to Westchester Medical Center for treatment of the injury. The defendant was arrested at the scene and taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital for evaluation, police said.
After arrest processing, the defendant was virtually arraigned at the hospital. Bail was set at $30,000 cash, $60,000 bond or $120,000 partially secured bond. He posted bail and is scheduled to appear in court Thursday, June 4 at 6 p.m.
