On the heels of Chief of Police Robert Noble’s retirement, change is coming to the Yorktown Police Department.
The Yorktown Town Board appointed three veteran members of the agency to leadership positions during its June 16 meeting, appointing Justin Foley as police chief, Mark Rapisarda as police captain and Michael Woodard as police lieutenant.
Foley, a Yorktown High School graduate, is what Noble calls a homegrown guy.
“He’s loyal, trustworthy, respectful, man of faith, family man, hardworking,” Noble said of Foley. “He deeply cares about this town.”
Noble added that Foley has been involved in everything across the department for the last year, and he said the town is in good hands under his leadership.
All three appointments take effect June 29 and are subject to probationary periods ranging from 12 to 52 weeks.
