YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. — A 48-year-old Yorktown man was arrested Friday and charged with third-degree assault and criminal obstruction of breathing, both Class A misdemeanors, police said.
Officers responded to a Yorktown home the morning of Oct. 10 after a report of a domestic incident. Police said their investigation found that the night before, around 10 p.m., the man allegedly choked the victim and pushed her to the ground. The victim lost consciousness and had a bruise on her arm. Her current condition is not known.
The man was arrested and taken to police headquarters for processing.
He was later arraigned before Judge Gary Raniolo, who issued a temporary order of protection. The man was released on his own recognizance and is due to appear in court tonight (Oct. 14).
Yorktown News is withholding names to protect the identity of the alleged victim.
