YORKTOWN, N.Y. — A 46-year-old Yorktown man was arrested last week and charged with attempted burglary following a reported home invasion, the Yorktown Police said on Monday.
Jose Ramon Diaz was charged with second-degree attempted burglary, a class D felony.
On July 23, just after 1 a.m., officers responded to a reported home invasion at a residence on Farsund Drive. Halston Media is withholding the exact address of the incident.
According to police, an investigation at the scene determined that Diaz allegedly attempted to unlawfully enter the home with the intent to commit a crime.
Diaz was arrested on the scene.
After processing, he was arraigned at the Yorktown Justice Court and released on his own recognizance.
He’s due to appear in court on Wednesday, Aug. 12 at 6 p.m.
On July 25, a 55-year-old Yorktown man was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon, a class E felony.
The Yorktown Police Department said that on July 9, it assisted the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office with the execution of an extreme risk protection order search warrant at a home in town. During the investigation, it said an unregistered firearm was found at the residence.
James Morgan turned himself in at the Yorktown Police Department on July 25, where he was arrested.
Following arrest processing, he was issued a ticket and released on his own recognizance.
He’s due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on Tuesday, Aug. 5 at 6 p.m.
