YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. —A Yorktown man was arrested following a months-long investigation that began in June into alleged weapons violations, police said.

Demian Kassetas, 49, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a Class D felony, according to the Yorktown Police Department.

Officers initially responded to Kassetas’ home on June 26 after a complaint from a local resident. On June 30, they executed an Extreme Risk Protection Order search warrant at the residence, with assistance from the Westchester County Police Department. Two assault weapons were seized during the search, police said.

The investigation concluded Oct. 30, and Kassetas turned himself in around 5 p.m. at Yorktown Police Headquarters.

After processing, he was arraigned in Yorktown Justice Court and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear in court again Dec. 4 at 6 p.m.
