Santa hit the streets of Yorktown on Sunday, Dec. 14, riding a firetruck and spreading holiday cheer during the Yorktown Heights Volunteer Fire Department’s annual Candy Cane Run.

Firefighters handed out more than 4,000 candy canes across the 36.2-square-mile fire district, despite the snowy weather and a couple of emergency calls on the Taconic State Parkway, First Assistant Chief Matt Lauria told Yorktown News.

They also made bonus stops at Downing Park (where Santa took a quick trip down the hill) and at the Yorktown Menorah Lighting Service to help celebrate the start of Chanukah.
