Meet Yorktown’s three new police officers

Posted

Some of Chief of Police Robert Noble’s favorite days are those when he can showcase his officers to the community. On Tuesday, he introduced the three newest officers at Town Hall.

“I'm proud to stand before you and say that this police department has a very strong culture,” he said. “I'm proud to be up here tonight and we just got better.”

Mark Adames

Mark Anthony Adames, or Mark, as he is known to his family and friends, is a veteran law enforcement and military professional with more than 20 years of service. A lifelong New Yorker, Adames was born and raised in Brooklyn. He graduated in 2002 from the High School for Health Professions and Human Services, where he played varsity baseball and soccer.

“He built his career on integrity, leadership, and a steadfast commitment to safeguarding the communities that he serves,” Noble said.

Adames enlisted in the United States Army in September 2004 as an M1A1 Abrams armor crewman on the Army’s main battle tank. He served as an Abrams crewman from 2005 until 2008, with assignments at Fort Irwin, California, and Fort Knox, Kentucky. From 2008 to 2013, Adames served as a human resources specialist in the Army, completing two combat tours in Iraq in 2009 and Afghanistan in 2012. During his deployments, he oversaw personnel management for more than 800 U.S. and allied forces. His assignments also included Fort Bragg, North Carolina, with the 82nd Airborne Division.

After leaving the Army in 2013, Adames joined the NYPD, initially serving in Manhattan’s 19th Precinct from 2014 to 2019. He serves in the U.S. Army Reserve as a military police sergeant. In October 2019, he joined the Critical Response Command, a specialized counterterrorism unit, conducting security deployments to critical sites, supporting rapid responses to threats, and collaborating with the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force.

“Throughout his military and law enforcement career Officer Adames received numerous awards and accommodations in recognition of his professionalism and service,” Noble said.

Adames and his wife have been married 17 years and are parents of four children. He is bilingual in English and Spanish and has extensive training in crisis response, intelligence analysis, and community policing. Noble said Adames only applied to one police department—Yorktown.

“It was a big decision, but a great decision, and I will never regret it a day in my life,” Adames said. “I am honored to be a Yorktown police officer and I hope I can do everyone proud.”

Madison Esposito

Madison Esposito graduated from Yorktown High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from SUNY Geneseo. At Geneseo, she was president of the Karate Club, which allowed her “to further develop her discipline, leadership skills, and commitment to personal growth,” Noble said.

Esposito, a third-degree black belt, served as head instructor at Elite Defensive Tactics in Yorktown Heights, teaching defensive techniques, self-discipline, and confidence while mentoring students. She gained law enforcement experience at the New York State Park Police Academy and with the New York State Park Rangers, and served as a squad leader at the Westchester County Police Department Academy. She was previously offered a position with the SUNY Geneseo Police Department.

Service runs in her family, Noble said, as her grandfather was an NYPD lieutenant and her father, Councilman Sergio Esposito, is a deputy sheriff with Westchester County.

“Their dedication and leadership have been a strong influence on our professional aspirations,” Noble said.

Esposito is in the Westchester County Police Academy and is expected to graduate in June. She will then begin field training at the Yorktown Police Department before starting full duties.

“It was a really big decision to leave a job that took a long time to get to come here, but it was definitely the best decision that I ever made,” Esposito said.

Timothy Kozlowski

Officer Timothy Kozlowski, a graduate of Yorktown High School, is currently pursuing his master's degree in business at Pace University. During high school, Kozlowski was a member of the basketball and cross country teams. In college, he remained actively involved on campus as a resident assistant, serving on the resident assistant team, where Noble said he “helped foster community, leadership, and accountability among students.”

He also participated in intramural basketball and was a member of Alpha Phi Delta Fraternity. Kozlowski served as a basketball coach for fourth-grade students and volunteered at youth training camps to support skill development and teamwork. Throughout high school, he contributed his time to community-focused volunteer programs.

Law enforcement has long been a part of his life, as his father is a retired NYPD sergeant.

Kozlowski is in in the Westchester County Police Academy and is expected to graduate in June. He will then begin field training at the Yorktown Police Department before starting full duties.

“I'd like to thank my family, my girlfriend, and everyone else who helped me throughout this process, their encouragement and guidance has brought me where I'm at today,” he said. “I'm honored to be a part of Yorktown Police Department.
I look forward to working hard, learning from the best officers around, and doing my best every day to help protect and serve this community.”
