YORKTOWN, N.Y. — A Yorktown man was arrested last week and charged with second-degree assault, a Class D felony, after allegedly striking another person with a ‘hard-plastic toy’ during a domestic dispute, according to the Yorktown Police Department.

Police said officers responded to a report of a domestic incident at a residence on the evening of Aug. 20. An investigation determined that 38-year-old Kenneth McGuigan allegedly struck the victim with the toy, intentionally causing physical injury.

The next day (Aug. 21), McGuigan voluntarily surrendered himself to the Yorktown Police Department. He was then arrested, processed, and arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court. The judge issued a temporary order of protection on behalf of the victim.

He was released on bail and is due to appear in court on Sept. 4 at 6 p.m.
