Lake Peekskill man arrested after unlawfully entering Yorktown home

A 48-year-old Lake Peekskill man was arrested May 8 after police said he unlawfully entered a residence in Yorktown in late April, according to the Yorktown Police Department.

Yorktown police said officers arrested Ryan Curtiss around 4:08 p.m. May 8 following a traffic stop in town. He was charged with second-degree criminal trespass, a class A misdemeanor.

Police said the investigation began April 26, when officers responded to a report of a trespass at a home on Lincoln Drive in Mohegan Lake. A caller reported an unidentified man had entered a neighbor’s residence. Investigators later determined Curtiss allegedly entered and remained unlawfully inside the home, establishing probable cause for his arrest.

Curtiss was later arraigned in Yorktown Justice Court, where a judge issued a temporary order of protection for the victim. He was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court again May 21 at 6 p.m.
