Yorktown police reported several recent arrests involving DWI, theft and other charges.
Joshua B. De Michele, 31, of Croton-on-Hudson, was arrested at Yorktown Police Department headquarters and charged with petit larceny, a Class A misdemeanor. Police said he allegedly stole a $399.99 item from Dick’s Sporting Goods on Aug. 7. De Michele voluntarily surrendered Sept. 2, was issued an appearance ticket and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Sept. 22 at 6 p.m.
Joseph Ives, 26, of Yorktown Heights, was arrested on Gomer Street and charged with first-offense driving while intoxicated and driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or more, both unclassified misdemeanors. Police said officers responded to a single-vehicle accident involving a driver reportedly passed out behind the wheel. Ives was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Sept. 17 at 6 p.m.
Juan C. Sagbaicela Chacha, 31, of Carmel, was arrested near Jefferson Valley Mall and charged with felony DWI, aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol content of 0.18 percent or more, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, all Class E felonies. Police said the vehicle was observed speeding and moving between lanes before officers conducted a traffic stop. Chacha was released to a responsible third party and is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Sept. 17 at 6 p.m.
Etan Silva Ramon, 25, of Lake Peekskill, was arrested and charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of a controlled substance, both Class A misdemeanors. Police said Ramon allegedly stole $142.98 worth of food from Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace. After his arrest, police said a search found an alleged controlled substance on him. He was issued an appearance ticket and released on his own recognizance. Ramon is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Oct. 1 at 6 p.m.
Elijah Acevedo, 39, of Shrub Oak, was arrested on Route 6 near Hill Boulevard and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree, an unclassified misdemeanor, as well as unlicensed operation and operating an unregistered motor vehicle, both traffic infractions. Police said a check during a traffic stop showed Acevedo’s New York driver’s license was revoked. He was issued traffic tickets and released on his own recognizance. Acevedo is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Oct. 1 at 6 p.m.
