A 58-year-old Cortlandt man died Wednesday after the all-terrain vehicle he was riding crashed on Old Crompond Road.
New York State Police said troopers were called to the area of 3868 Old Crompond Rd. at about 6:50 p.m. Sept. 9 for a report of an ATV crash.
A preliminary investigation found that Robert Kristoferson was operating a Yamaha Grizzly Ultramatic 600 when, for an unknown reason, the ATV rolled over and partially pinned him underneath. Kristoferson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police did not provide additional information about Kristoferson.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation as police work to determine what caused the ATV to roll over.
