Cocaine possession, Macy’s and CVS thefts, counterfeit $100 among recent arrests

Recent arrests made by the Yorktown Police Department, announced Wednesday, include incidents of cocaine possession, thefts at Macy’s and CVS and a counterfeit $100 bill forgery case, according to police.

Katonah man charged with cocaine possession

Yorktown police arrested a 28-year-old Katonah man on May 11 after a traffic stop on Saw Mill River Road led to a drug-related charge, police said.

Officer Santoro pulled over a vehicle at about 2:41 a.m. on Saw Mill River Road for allegedly having inadequate rear license plate lamps, police said. During the stop, officers said they identified the driver and conducted an on-scene investigation that led to the discovery of a quantity of alleged cocaine.

He was arrested and transported to Yorktown Police Department for processing.

The driver was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor.

He was issued an appearance ticket and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 28 in Yorktown Justice Court.

Yonkers pair charged in Macy’s theft at Yorktown mall

Yorktown police arrested a 34-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man, both from Yonkers, on May 15 after a reported larceny in progress at Macy’s in the Jefferson Valley Mall, police said.

Macy’s asset protection team reported the theft and provided descriptions of the suspects. Police said the pair was detained in the parking lot upon arrival around 9:30 p.m. on May 15 and are accused of stealing merchandise valued at $3,749.25 while acting in concert.

The woman, Lawren Jackson, was charged with petit larceny, a Class A misdemeanor. The man, Nigel Dubois, was charged with petit larceny, possession of burglar tools and fugitive from justice, all Class A misdemeanors.

Both were arraigned in Yorktown Justice Court.

Jackson was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to appear at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2 in Yorktown Justice Court. Dubois was remanded to the Westchester County Department of Corrections and is due to appear at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 28 in Yorktown Justice Court.

Yorktown resident turned himself in after CVS theft

Yorktown police said it arrested a 41-year-old Yorktown man on May 19 in connection with a petit larceny at CVS, 2000 Commerce St.

Officers said the investigation began after a May 13 report of a shoplifting incident at the store. The suspect was later identified and contacted by police before turning himself in at Yorktown Police Headquarters at about 10:40 a.m., according to police.

He is accused of stealing miscellaneous items valued at $30.75.

The man was charged with petit larceny, a Class A misdemeanor, and issued an appearance ticket. He was released and is scheduled to appear at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 4 in Yorktown Justice Court.

Bronx man held on forgery, larceny warrant

Yorktown police arrested 27-year-old Amari Boykin on May 19 on an active warrant stemming from a March forgery and petit larceny investigation at Kool Beans Coffee Shop in the Jefferson Valley Mall, police said.

Officers said the investigation began after a March 8 report alleging the man from the Bronx used a counterfeit $100 bill to purchase a $5.96 latte and received $94.04 in change, resulting in a $100 loss to the business. Police obtained an arrest warrant for criminal possession of a forged instrument and petit larceny.

Boykin was arrested by an another unnamed jurisdiction on unrelated charges, and was being held at the Westchester County Department of Corrections. on May 19, he was transported to Yorktown Police Headquarters by Westchester County correctional officers. He was taken into custody on the warrant.

He was arraigned and remanded to the Westchester County Jail. He is due back to appear at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9 in the Yorktown Justice Court.
