A Croton-on-Hudson man was accused of using a stolen credit card to make multiple unauthorized purchases following a burglary at a local business, the Yorktown Police Department said.
William Gambichler, 32, was charged on Thursday, Jan. 8, in connection with a late-December burglary at Filingeri Electric on Lexington Avenue in Mohegan Lake.
Officers were called to the business on the morning of Dec. 22, police said, where it was found that a credit card belonging to the victim had been stolen.
Detectives traced the card’s use and identified Gambichler as the suspect. Police said the credit card was used multiple times without the owner’s permission.
Gambichler was initially taken into custody by Peekskill Police days later, on Dec. 30, and was remanded to the Westchester County Jail. On Jan. 8, he was taken to Yorktown Police Headquarters for processing by the Westchester County Department of Corrections, the department said.
He is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Thursday, Feb. 5 at 6 p.m..
