YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. —Results are in. Yorktown voters have cast their ballots in races for town supervisor, two Town Board seats, county executive, and the Westchester County Board of Legislators in Districts 1 and 4, with early voting playing a decisive role in at least one race.
Town Board results: In a turnaround after early voting, Ilan Gilbert, who was third in the unofficial election day numbers posted by the Westchester Board of Elections, overhauled Luciana Haughwout to earn a seat on the town board. County executive results: Democrat Ken Jenkins has been re-elected Westchester County Executive, defeating Republican Christine Sculti in a rematch of February’s special election. County legislator results: In District 4, Yorktown Democrat incumbent Vedat Gashi defeated Somers newcomer Kevin O’Keefe, while in District 1, three-term Peekskill Democrat Colin Smith defeated Yorktown Republican Kevin Byrnes.
