Eileen Elizabeth Fox, 84, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on April 11, 2026 at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mt. Kisco, NY.
She was born on May 22, 1941 to the late John and Mary (Smith) McCarron in the Bronx, NY. Eileen was the oldest of eight children in a close-knit, Irish family. Eileen graduated from Cathedral High School in 1959 and began working at Equitable Insurance Company.
In 1961, she met the love of her life, Charles “Buddy” Fox. In 1962, they married at St. Francis of Assisi Church in the Bronx and began their lives together. Their marriage spanned 63 cherished years filled with everlasting love, treasured memories and devotion to family.
In 1969, they moved from the Bronx to Somers, NY where they raised their four children and made countless lifelong friendships. Eileen was the proud and loving grandmother to seven grandchildren and the great grandmother of two.
Eileen had a long and wonderful career serving the Town of Somers, first as Deputy Tax Receiver and after being elected, she later took the position of Receiver of Taxes. She remained in that position until her retirement in 2005. Eileen truly loved her work and she was well respected by all her co-workers, all of whom became friends for life.
Eileen is survived by her husband, Charles “Buddy”, her children Barbara (Bob), Chuck and John (Stephanie), as well as her grandchildren, Colleen (Matt), Christopher (Tina), Carolyn, Katie, Brian, Cassie and Jack and her two great grandsons. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary (Billy), Pat (Jim), Debbie and her sister-in-law Kathy, her brothers, Tom (Elise) and Dan (Kathleen) as well as her many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
Eileen is predeceased by her beloved son, Jimmy and dear brother, John.
Eileen always put family first under any situation. Her home was always the gathering place full of love, laughs and many wonderful memories. Eileen’s strength of family, loyalty to friends and love of life will be greatly missed by all.

A Mass of Christian Burial to honor Eileen's life took place on April 17, 2026, at St. Joseph's Church in Somers, NY. Following the Mass, Eileen was escorted to her final resting place at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 357 Route 202, Somers, NY.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Cargain Funeral Home in Carmel, NY.
