Dear Editor,
This is the United States of America and we are all protected by the First Amendment.
The March 22 vigil honoring Renée Good and Alex Pretti, organized by former Town Board member Patrick DeSena, was really sad.

Dear Editor,
There are 6,465 registered Democrats in Carmel.
And for too long they have had no voice in their town or county governments. As the newly elected chair of the Carmel Democratic Committee, I am determined to change that. I have good reason to be optimistic. Last year’s Democratic candidates in Carmel significantly closed the gap on Election Day, coming closer to success than they have in decades. County-wide, Philipstown is solidly blue, while Putnam Valley, Patterson and Kent all elected Democrats in their town governments. Our town committee is growing, as well, and I am joined by a strong leadership team to achieve this goal.

Dear Editor,
Every Mike Lawler town hall is fraudulent and an insult to his constituents.
I pay his salary; he is my public servant. And as my servant, I expect respect, but all I get at his town halls is insult and disrespect.

Being estranged from a family member is generally one of the most difficult and complex issues encountered when preparing one’s estate plan.
This is particularly true if the estranged person is a child, grandchild or sibling (if one has no children), as well as a person with whom one previously had a good relationship.

Dear Editor,
I attended Congressman Mike Lawler's town hall in Yorktown last month. His positions are deeply MAGA and frankly an affront to the constituents of Congressional District 17.

In 1979, I joined the Women’s Civic Club of Katonah. That was 47 years ago, and I have enjoyed just as many years of camaraderie, hard work, giving and fun. I also belong to five other clubs (and at one time there was a sixth). As much as I have...

Dear Editor,
Again?
Another life taken from our extended community.
Sheridan Gorman, an 18-year-old freshman at Loyola University Chicago from Yorktown, was doing something entirely normal, walking with friends near campus, when her life was suddenly and violently taken by a criminal in the country here illegally.

Dear Editor,
Congress is supposed to decide when this country goes to war. That’s not a procedural nicety — it’s the Constitution, designed to prevent exactly what we're watching now: a president initiating sustained military action while the public is left to guess at the objective, the legal authority, the cost, and the endgame.

When the Beatles came to America, I was one of countless kids who suddenly decided they needed a guitar. Something about that moment lit a spark in so many of us. I got my first guitar not long after, and like a lot of beginners.

The Town never provided funding for SRO’s that are members of the Westchester County Police Department . It has always been the Lakeland Central School District’s responsibility. The School District is able to raise funds for SRO’s directly through taxation. School taxes already account for approximately 70% of the yearly property taxes that each property owner pays.

As spring arrives, Jewish families around the world begin preparing for Passover. Kitchens are scrubbed, shelves are cleared and all chametz (leavened bread) is removed from the home. While this intense cleaning may seem unusual, the physical...

For several years when my daughter was little, between the ages of 4 and 7, I kept a bowl of mini marshmallows on our Passover table.
It was not part of the traditional ritual meal. It was simply a parenting strategy. Every time she or one of the...
