Yvette Harmon

With much regret and sorrow, Yvette Harmon passed onto another world on December 27, 2024, after a brave and long battle against Alzheimer’s disease. She last resided in South Salem, NY after having resided in New York City for many years.  She was eighty years old at the time of her passing.

Yvette was a renowned and nationally known brilliant attorney.  At the time of her retirement, Yvette was a partner at McGuireWoods, where she served on its Executive Committee. Prior to that, she was co-head of a large multi-city law firm which merged with McGuireWoods.

Yvette was a graduate of Cornell Law School and served on the Cornell Law School Advisory Council. She was also a visiting professor at that Law School.  She freely gave of her time and energy constantly traveling from New York City for the benefit of the students at the School.

Yvette was a mentor to many young women attorneys assisting them to achieve the high level legal ability which she had obtained.

She is survived by Stan, her husband of fifty-five years, also a retired attorney, as well as by her daughter, Stephanie Lewis, Stephanie’s husband, Daniel, and her grandchildren, Ethan, Alex and Annie of Armonk, NY.

If you wish to make a donation in Yvette’s memory it would be most appreciated if that donation is made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
