Robert Polniazek, a cherished husband and community member passed away on March 23, 2025 in Mt. Kisco NY. Robert was born in Lancater, NY on November 13, 1951. As a young boy the family would pack up and move down to Westchester County, where he lived for his remaining years.
Robert, also known as Bob to family and friends, was loved and protected by a houseful of sisters. Thanks to a thoughtful introduction by a mutual friend, Robert would meet and fall in love with Bernadette. In 1984 their married journey began, leading to decades of love and companionship. Together, Robert and Bernadette would become solid members of their community and devout members of their parish St. Francis of Assisi. There, Robert would serve many years as a eucharistic minister and usher.
Robert loved making friends and meeting new people. He was a 4th degree Knight with the KOC. He never missed a chance to cheer for his favorite teams, the Buffalo Bills and The New York Yankees, and enjoyed many happy hours at the bowling alley with his friends.
Robert, known as a very hard worker and loyal employee, spent many years with Union Carbide as a bookkeeper followed by long-term employment at their local A&P. Bob is predeceased by his father, Matt Polniazek.
Bob, is survived by his beloved wife Bernadette, his mother Gertrude (Age 98) sisters Nancy Dunn (John), Mary Jo Mueller (Stephen), Diane Saha (Anthony) Karen O' Reilly (Patrick), Carol Chiara (John), Brother in Laws Greg Mowen (Margaret), Edward Mowen III (Teresa), David Mowen (Catherine) Sister in Law Margaret Clarkin (Tommy) mother-in-law Doris Mowen and many nieces and nephews.
Roberts family would like to thank the St. Francis of Assisi community for being a second home for Robert throughout the years. His devotion to this community was unwavering and we will always remember your kindness.
Family and friends were invited to Cassidy-Flynn Funeral Directors on Saturday, March 29.
Following the visitation, a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Bob at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Mt. Kisco. Burial was at St. Francis Cemetery.
