It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michelle Hernandez .
Michelle, age 61, was a well known resident of both Mount Kisco and Yorktown Heights known to many as MA .
She was born on August 4, 1963 to proud parents, Ada Ortiz and Hector Hernandez. Growing up in Harlem and the only girl out of four siblings, Michelle was destined to stand out. During her earlier years, Michelle worked at Northern Westchester as a patient care technician and phlebotomist in the emergency room department . She also worked as a caregiver for community based services and many private home care agencies throughout the Westchester area. Michelle also worked as a cashier until she became disabled.
She will always be remembered for her resilience, strength, and empathy towards others . Michelle was a kind and caring soul who took pride in feeding the neighborhood children every chance she got. Michelle's humorous personality, and beautiful smile will forever be embedded in the hearts and memories of all who loved her.
Michelle was finally called home to rest on July 23, 2025 .
She is survived by three daughters Jennifer Santiago, Samantha Castillo and Ashley Coy. Beloved grandmother to seven grandchildren Christopher Lucas, Jason Session , William Rocchio, Mason, Amayah, and Mila Castillo, Maximus Inoa, great grandchild Roman and son in law Jason Castillo. Michelle is also survived by her brothers Steven Hernandez, Rene Tirado and her aunts, Minerva Slade, Carmen Mercado and Julia Rodriguez. Michelle also leaves behind her emotional companion,her little fur baby, Heaven.
