Laetitia L. Friis of Ridgefield, CT, passed away Friday, March 7, 2025, in Danbury, CT, at the age of 96. Before moving to Ridgefield, Laetitia was a long-time resident of Brewster, NY, and a had a summer cottage on Nantucket Island, MA.

Letty was born January 28, 1929, in the Bronx, NY, daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Melfa) Lupo. She graduated from Davis High School in Mt. Vernon, NY in 1947, then graduated from Good Council College in White Plains in 1951. In 1967 Laetitia married Ronald L. Friis of Napier, New Zealand in Mt. Vernon, NY and in 1977 they moved to Brewster. Ronald predeceased Laetitia in 2008. Laetitia worked as a bookkeeper for her father’s business Lupoline in the Bronx for many years then worked at Kern Instruments in Brewster, NY. She then kept books for a family farm in North Salem, NY in her final working years before retiring. She was a past member of the Brewster Elks Lodge.

Laetitia is survived by her son Ronald J. Friis and his wife Carole Salmon of Greenville, SC and her grandchildren Sophia and Hudson Friis. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her sister Elena Wolfe.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday March 11, 2025, at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster followed by the interment in her family mausoleum in St. Raymonds Cemetery in Bronx, NY. The wake will take place prior to the mass on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
