Carolyn Lillian (Arklie) Biskup of Somers, NY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Regional Hospice.

Born in St. John’s Newfoundland, Canada on November 6, 1941, she was the daughter of John and Julie (Foote) Arklie.

Carolyn married Paul Biskup in 1967 in Baltimore, MD. Together they made their home in Bedford, NY for almost 30 years. They shared a love of cooking and hosting parties at their home. They also loved to travel, and Carolyn cherished returning to Newfoundland, Canada every summer to spend time with family. After 42 years of marriage, Paul passed away in 2009.

Carolyn graduated from Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia with a degree in Psychology and a Minor in Secretarial Science. A dedicated educator, she began her teaching career in Toronto, CA, and later taught in Baltimore, MD, Bedford, NY as well as at Pace Business School in Yonkers. She eventually joined Monroe College in New Rochelle, where she enjoyed a distinguished 35-year career. During this time at Monroe, Carolyn earned her master’s degree from the University of Phoenix.

Carolyn found love again and was blessed to spend the last ten years of her life with her partner Richard Peduto. Together, they shared a love of travel, discovering new restaurants, and spending cherished time with friends, creating many joyful memories along the way.

She will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her children and grandchildren, her kindness and her beautiful smile. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son David John Biskup, daughter-in-law Ashlee, and their daughter Bella of Beacon, New York, by her daughter Kimberly Anne (Biskup) Horst, son-in-law James and their two children Claire and Samuel of Chappaqua, New York, by her brother Albert Arklie and sister-in-law Myrna, her niece Kathy, her husband Mark, and her nephew Stephen and his wife Charlotte of St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada, and by her sister-in-law Rosemary Biskup of Crucible, PA. Carolyn was predeceased by her husband, Paul Biskup and her parents John and Julie Arklie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to Regional Hospice, in gratitude for the compassionate care and kindness shown to our mother during her final days. https://regionalhospicect.org
