Dear Editor, There is no issue Washington enjoys losing more than immigration. One party runs ads about chaos at the border, the other runs ads about cruelty, and Congress has not passed real... more
Dear Editor, In a time when nearly every public issue is quickly sorted into red or blue boxes, it is worth remembering an important distinction: nonpartisan does not mean apolitical. The League of Women Voters is a... more
Dear Editor, I sometimes join the protest rally sponsored by Indivisible Yorktown on a Saturday. The others are mostly Yorktown residents. The thing about protests and rallies is that they unite like-minded... more

Dear Editor, “If you serve the public, you should serve only the public.” Congressman Mike Lawler wrote those words while celebrating legislation restricting members of Congress from... more
Dear Editor, In reading the Opinion Piece by Senator Harkham in the June 18th edition of the paper, in many aspects, is a misleading propaganda document. “The New York State Senate Majority fought long and hard for an array of important wins... more
Dear Editor, In response to Bob Scopelliti’s letter in the May 7 to June 3 edition. We participated in the No Kings rally on March 28th. We have been at every Saturday... more

Dear Editor, I attended Congressman Mike Lawler's town hall in Yorktown last month. His positions are deeply MAGA and frankly an affront to the constituents of Congressional District 17. more
Dear Editor, Congress is supposed to decide when this country goes to war. That’s not a procedural nicety — it’s the Constitution, designed to prevent exactly what we're watching now: a president initiating sustained military action while the public is left to guess at the objective, the legal authority, the cost, and the endgame. more

Dear Editor, Democrat State Sen. Peter Harckham is proposing legislation that would authorize NY State to bypass local zoning codes in order to allow houses of worship to build high-density multi-family low income housing and housing for the homeless on their properties. The “Faith-Based Affordable Housing Act” is just the State’s latest attempt to override local control over zoning. It is the latest iteration of the widely unpopular “Pro-Housing Community Program.” Mount Kisco proper has 10 houses of worship with at least one, the Fountain Of Eternal Life Church, sitting on approximately eight acres. Envision a high-rise apartment buildin more
