For a stronger Mount Kisco, back Luzio and McGuirk

Posted

Dear Editor,

Village Trustee Tom Luzio and Mike McGuirk have the knowledge, experience and ideas to be on the Village Board.

Tom, a resident for 11 years, came to the Village Board after service as a Bureau Chief in the Westchester County District Attorney’s office and time spent on the Re-imagining the Police Task Force. Before he was joined by Heather Bryant and Tammy Brown, he was the lone voice for re-starting work on the Preston Avenue Bridge because he knows that maintenance of infrastructure is cheaper than “kicking [costs] down the road.”

The new Treatment Court can help prevent repeated cases before the court. Tom worked to strengthen relationships with volunteer community groups, the county police (including our local police), and county and state elected officials.

Mike, a resident for 22 years and parent of children in the Bedford Central School District, has served on the Planning Board with the last 3-1/2 years as chair. He also serves on the Complete Streets Committee, which led to a significant grant. These roles have given him a deep knowledge of the village, and experience dealing with complex issues involving development, traffic, pedestrian safety, and accessibility for all residents. Always aware of costs, Tom and Mike strive to solve problems, not just complain.

Vote for Tom Luzio and Mike McGuirk. Early voting started; Election Day is Nov. 3.

-Jeanine Meyer, Mount Kisco
