WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. —Two Mohegan Lake beaches have been closed once again.
The Westchester County Health Department announced Tuesday that it has closed the Mohegan Colony Association and Mohegan Beach Park District — the only two county-regulated beaches on Mohegan Lake — due to a harmful algae bloom (HAB) in the swim areas.
Both beaches had been closed and reopened earlier this summer.
To reopen the beaches, the algae must be completely cleared from the swim areas, the county said. After that, water samples will be collected and submitted for analysis.
