In Loving Memory of Tomor Kendezi
Tomor Kendezi came to America from Albania during an extremely difficult time for his homeland, carrying with him the strength, determination, and resilience that would define his life. He was a hardworking man who believed in doing whatever he could to help others. If someone needed him, Tomor was the kind of person who would do his best to be there.
Tomor leaves behind his beloved daughter, Baria Kendezi, and her husband, David Gonzalez, along with his cherished grandson, Achilles; his son, Petrit Kendezi, and Petrit’s significant other, Matt Davis; his stepdaughter, Angela Kourakos, and her husband, Joseph Kourakos; and his step-granddaughters, Madison and Katelyn Kourakos. He is also survived by his brother, Pellumb Kendezi. He was preceded in death by his sister, Hena Spaho who passed away recently, and his parents, Selfo & Barije Kendezi who are laid to rest in Albania.
Tomor also shared more than 20 years of marriage with his former wife, Maria Dilia. Together, they built a house and shared many years of their lives, creating memories that will always remain part of their story.
Like many families, Tomor and his loved ones experienced periods of distance and differences over the years. But sometimes, life gives us an unexpected opportunity to find our way back to one another. Following Tomor’s recent heart attack, the family reunited, bringing everyone closer again. He was given what felt like a second chance at life, and with that came something truly special: the comfort of knowing he was no longer alone and the joy of having his family around him once more.
Those moments together became a precious gift. Seeing Tomor happy and surrounded by loved ones was a reminder of how much connection, family, and togetherness mean. We are grateful that he had the opportunity to experience that renewed closeness and happiness once again.
Tomor also found joy and companionship at the senior center, where he made friends and built meaningful connections. Among them was Katia, someone he held in particularly high regard and spoke of with great warmth. These friendships brought happiness into his life and reminded us that it is never too late to find friendship, belonging, and new reasons to smile.
Tomor will be remembered for his character, his tireless work ethic, his generous spirit, and his willingness to lend a helping hand. He was a man who worked hard, persevered through difficult times, and found happiness in the simple but meaningful things in life. His willingness to help others and the impression he left on those around him will remain part of his legacy.
Tomor, we wish we could have had more time with you.
More conversations, more memories, more laughter, and more opportunities to enjoy the time we had together. Although our time with you was not as long as we would have hoped, we are thankful for the moments we were given, especially the chance to reunite and share in your happiness once again.
Life gave us the opportunity to find our way back to one another, and for that, we will always be grateful. Knowing that you were happy, that you had your family close, and that you no longer had to face life alone brings us comfort. Those moments will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
May you now rest peacefully, reunited with your beloved parents and sister in your homeland of Albania. May you know that you were loved, that your life mattered, and that you will always hold a place in the hearts of those whose lives you touched.
You will be remembered with love, missed more than words can express, and never forgotten.
