Sergio is a leader who listens and lifts others

I’ve had the privilege of knowing Sergio Esposito for many years — long before his time in politics, and even then, it was clear that his leadership was rooted in something deeper than strategy or ambition. What has always stood out to me is his unwavering commitment to people: to truly seeing them, hearing them and creating spaces where everyone feels valued and empowered.

Under Sergio’s leadership, inclusion isn’t treated as a program or initiative; it’s a way of being. His intentional approach has shaped environments where authenticity is celebrated, diverse perspectives are embraced and every individual feels a genuine sense of belonging. He leads with empathy and purpose, setting a standard that inspires others to do the same. Sergio has shown that leadership grounded in equity and compassion not only drives collaboration and innovation but also builds trust and connection across communities. Watching his journey has reaffirmed what I recognized in him years ago — a leader who listens deeply, acts intentionally and lifts others as he leads.

I’m grateful for the example he continues to set and for the friendship that has grown alongside his remarkable leadership. His ability to bring people together — across differences, experiences and perspectives, is a testament to the kind of inclusive leadership our world needs more of.
