Dear Editor,
My name is Carol Lachterman, and I am proud to be the wife of your Yorktown Supervisor, Ed Lachterman.
I was born in Yorktown, and it has been my home for most of my life. I am a proud Yorktown Husker, and this community means so much to me.
Long before Ed took office, we belonged to community organizations and volunteered together. Serving others has always been a large part of who we are. Through that service, we have met so many wonderful people whose generosity makes Yorktown special. We are grateful to everyone who gives their time to help our community and those in need.
During Ed’s eight years on the Town Board and now as Supervisor, I have seen firsthand his dedication to our residents. I have watched him head out during weather emergencies to check on conditions and support those working to keep us safe. I have also seen him tackle difficult issues that could adversely affect our town. His commitment doesn’t end when the workday is over.
I am proud of Ed’s work, his knowledge of our town, and the respect and care he shows our residents. Whether we are having a meal at a restaurant or the diner, shopping at the grocery store, or walking down the street, people stop us to thank Ed for his work and tell him how glad they are that he is their Supervisor. Those moments mean more to me than they could know.
To our family, friends, and everyone who supports us both: thank you.
Please vote early or on Election Day. I hope you will join me in supporting Ed Lachterman to keep Yorktown moving forward. He loves this town and puts Yorktown first.
God bless the residents of Yorktown, and God bless America!
-Carol Lachterman, Yorktown
