As a proud Yorktown resident, I want to share my support for Councilwoman Luciana Haughwout.
In today’s political climate, it’s rare to find someone who not only listens to every constituent but also stands firmly by her word. Luciana is one of the most real, consistent and genuine people I know—and that is exactly the kind of leadership Yorktown deserves.
Yorktown is where I chose to raise my children because our town values family, and Luciana embodies that spirit. She makes the entire community feel like family. Whether it’s her work on improving our parks and recreation spaces, her advocacy to ensure developer recreation fees are updated and fairly applied, or her collaboration with the Parks & Recreation Commission to make sure our children have safe, vibrant spaces to play—Luciana shows up with honesty and heart.
What I respect most is how she engages with her fellow board members. She listens with respect, but she also speaks her truth with courage and clarity. Even when it’s not easy, she is steady and consistent. That combination of integrity and grit is something rarely seen in politics today.
I encourage all of us who care about Yorktown’s future to stand with me in reelecting Luciana Haughwout to the Town Board. She represents not just policies, but the values that make Yorktown a true community.
