Dear Editor,
As many residents know, I’ve lived in Yorktown my entire life.
My parents bought their home here before I was born, and I was raised on these tree-lined streets. From volunteering with United for the Troops to the Lions Club, I’ve always felt a deep love for our town, its people, its energy and its unmistakable hometown spirit. Yorktown isn’t just where I live, it’s who I am.
My husband, Ed, first ran for the Town Board driven by a simple goal: to help local businesses succeed. After the tragic passing of Supervisor Tom Diana, Ed stepped forward to meet every challenge with strength, humility and dedication, motivated only by service to our community and a desire to honor our friend’s legacy.
Now, as Ed runs once again for Town Supervisor, I couldn’t be prouder. It’s been a blessing to be part of his journey and now his campaign. I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute, in my own small way, to the positive changes we’ve seen in the town we all love. Meeting new residents, connecting with veterans and working alongside young families have been some of the most meaningful experiences of my life.
Ed is a selfless public servant who leads with integrity and heart. I humbly ask for your vote this election for the man I’m proud to call my husband and for a leader who continues to put Yorktown first.
With gratitude and God Bless Yorktown.
-Carol Lachterman, wife of Town Supervisor Ed Lachterman
