Patrick “Pat” DiSalvo was born on Sept. 23, 1942, and lived a life defined by hard work, quiet strength, and an unwavering love for his family. He was a devoted husband, father, father-in-law, and, most importantly, the very best Pop Pop his five grandchildren could have ever asked for.

Pat was a man of few words, but he had a way of showing his love through the things he did. He worked hard, was always willing to lend a helping hand, and took pride in taking care of the people he loved. For Pat, family was everything, and one of his greatest joys was bringing everyone together around a table filled with good food.

A proud deli owner, Pat owned Domand Deli on Central Avenue in Yonkers, where he became known for his fresh mozzarella and delicious meat pie. Cooking was more than something he did; it was one of the ways he expressed his love. His food brought people together, created memories, and made everyone who walked through his door feel welcome.

Pat also had a love for music and the magic of the stage. He especially enjoyed listening to Neil Diamond and had a special appreciation for The Phantom of the Opera. These favorites were another part of what made Pat who he was, adding a little music and joy to a life centered on the people and things he loved.

Throughout their 59 years of marriage, Pat and Ann shared a lifetime of love, companionship, and memories. They especially enjoyed going out together to see Broadway plays, sharing in the music, stories, and magic of the theater. They also found happiness in the simple moments of everyday life. Some of their favorite times were spent relaxing side by side at night, watching movies on Netflix and enjoying each other’s company. After nearly six decades together, these shared experiences and quiet routines reflected the deep bond they had built. Their love was shaped not only by life’s milestones, but also by the countless ordinary moments that became meaningful because they experienced them together.

But his greatest role in life was being Pop Pop. His grandchildren, Dylan, Joseph, Anthony, Christopher, and Matthew, were his pride and joy. Because they lived nearby, they were frequent visitors at his house, where they were always welcomed with open arms and, of course, something delicious to eat. Pat had a special way of making each of them feel like a celebrity. When his grandchildren came to visit, they knew they were loved, they knew they were special, and they certainly knew they were going to be fed.

Pat leaves behind a lifetime of love and memories that will continue to live on through the family he cherished so deeply. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ann DiSalvo; his daughter, Marianne Kolesar, and son-in-law, Jay; his son, Joe; his daughter, Danielle (Marc) and his five treasured grandchildren, Dylan (Augustina), Joseph, Anthony, Christopher, and Matthew. He is also survived by his loving sister, Marie Iannone, and brother, Anthony DiSalvo, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Though saying goodbye is never easy, Pat’s family can take comfort in knowing that his love will always be part of them. It will live on in family gatherings, in the stories told and retold, in the familiar songs that bring him to mind, and in the laughter that follows every memory of him.

His presence will be deeply missed, but the love he gave so generously will never fade. May he find peace and rest, surrounded by the love he spent his life giving to others.
