Only two candidates came prepared — and they earned my vote

Dear Editor,

I watched the League of Women Voters debate between the Town Board candidates and was shocked to see the lack of preparedness of Ilan Gilbert and Michael Hickens.

I really was expecting much more from both candidates, especially since one is a former supervisor. What I witnessed was the inability to answer questions both cohesively and with specifics. I was very disappointed.

On the other hand, both Sergio Esposito and Luciana Haughwout were dynamic, knowledgeable, precise, and to the point. They knew the issues and were totally prepared for any and all questions. I was impressed and will be voting for them this November. Yorktown cannot afford to go backwards.
