It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Mary Joan Anderson on Sunday, May 25, 2025. Born and raised in Yonkers, NY, Joan started her career as a secretary at New York Life Insurance. Shortly after, she met Victor Anderson on a blind date. He then served in the army in Korea. They exchanged love letters and upon his return, they married in 1956. Joan touched the lives of many as a sister, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and great aunt.

She is survived by her husband Victor; her three children: Randy, Eileen, and David; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her brother Richard Landy; and her sister Nancy Piskorowski. Joan was predeceased by her brother David Hallinan and her first grandson, Bryant Palmer.

Also known as "Dr. Mom," Joan did her research and had a cure for anything that ailed you. Not to mention, her famous meatballs became a family staple enjoyed by all. During the years of raising her children, she was quite the dressmaker, with her Singer sewing machine, becoming very proficient, turning out beautiful creations. Joan enjoyed crossword puzzles, the jumble, watching the game show network, and playing pinochle with the family. Joan resided in her home in Putnam Lake, NY since 1972. She lived a long and fruitful life for which we are forever grateful. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
