Kathleen A. Cullen, age 81, died on Sept. 25, 2026. Born in 1944, in Dublin, Ireland, she was the daughter of Patrick and Christina O’Neill. Kathleen lived in Ireland through her teenage years before coming to the United States in 1964. She often shared fond memories of life and the places she loved “back home.” When Kathleen first came to New York, she lived in White Plains, where she proudly earned the title of Miss White Plains. She later met the love of her life, Martin Cullen, and they married in 1970. Together, they purchased their family home in Somers, New York, where they raised their four children.

Kathleen brought energy and flair to everything she did. She loved decorating, gardening, shopping, going on cruises, and playing her favorite slot machine at the casinos, where she always broke even. She will be especially remembered for her distinctive sense of style and her enthusiasm for the latest fashion trends. Over the years, she worked as a waitress in many diners throughout the area, where her warmth and personality made her beloved by her regular customers.

Above all, the greatest pride and joy of Kathleen’s life was her family. She treasured her children and eight grandchildren. As Nana, she enjoyed being part of everything her grandchildren did and always showered them with love. The love, style, and spirit she shared with everyone around her will remain an enduring part of her legacy.

Kathleen was predeceased by her loving husband Martin Cullen of 52 years and her sister Maura Moustakas of White Plains. She is survived by her brother Patrick O’Neill and sister Marian O’Neill, her children Tina and George, Margaret and Bob, Patrick and Michele, and Timothy Cullen. Her eight grandchildren Maegan, Maggie, McKayla, Fiona, Caitlin, Thomas, Landon and Ryan. Kathleen will also be fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews.

“So fill to me the parting glass, good night and joy be with you all.”
