Yorktown’s Sydney Sateriale starred with a seven-point day (4G, 3A, 2 ground balls, 3 draw controls) in leading the host Huskers, the No. 10-ranked Class B team in the state poll, to a 16-7 victory against visiting Lakeland/Panas in the girls version of the Murphy Cup, which is in its second season. more

It was a record-setting night for Yorktown senior goalie Hunter Mezzatesta, who is bound for the University of Virginia. He recorded his 704th career save, breaking Joe Colarusso’s school record of 703 set in 1981, midway through the fourth quarter of Yorktown’s 9-3 win against visiting John Jay-Cross River on April 21. more
