KATONAH, N.Y. - "Katonahween'' drew flocks of folks to downtown Katonah to show off their clever, creepy, and cute costumes.

The Halloween parade took place on Sunday, Oct. 25, and featured cider, doughnuts, and candy for the marchers and live musical performances for those enjoying the action from the sidelines.

It was organized by the Katonah Village Improvement Society and supported by local businesses.

And that wasn’t all that was going on in the community that day.

The nearby Katonah Village Library lured lifelong bibliophiles and fledgling readers alike to its annual book sale, which was shepherded by a crew of intrepid volunteers. Thousands of donated books ranging from hardcover, paperbacks, and audio were on offer. In its meeting room, a large audience listened attentively as poets earnestly read their works.
