Local GOP honors Hispanic Heritage Month

Posted

Dear Editor,

Each year, from Sept. 15 through Oct. 15, our nation celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month, an opportunity to recognize the history, culture and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans.

The North Salem Republican Town Committee is proud to join our neighbors in recognizing this important month.

Generations of Hispanic Americans have served our country in uniform, built businesses, raised families, strengthened our communities and contributed to our arts, sciences, education and civic life. Their traditions and experiences are part of the rich fabric that makes the United States what it is today.

Here in North Salem, we are reminded that a strong community is built by neighbors who contribute their talents, their work and their love of country and community. Hispanic Heritage Month gives us an opportunity not only to celebrate culture and history, but also to recognize the individuals and families who continue to help our communities thrive.

As we commemorate America’s 250th anniversary this year, it is especially fitting to reflect on the many people and cultures that have contributed to our nation across generations. Our history continues to be written by Americans from every background who share in the promise of our country and take part in the responsibilities of citizenship.

During Hispanic Heritage Month, the North Salem Republican Town Committee extends our appreciation to Hispanic and Latino residents in North Salem, throughout Westchester County and across our nation for their many contributions to our shared American story.
