A Mount Kisco resident faces felony charges after allegedly injuring a man in a June 21 altercation.
Report received at 10:53 p.m. of a fight in progress at a yard party on Lexington Avenue. Following investigation, a 25-year-old village resident was charged with assault, third degree, a felony. A man who suffered a laceration to his forehead after being punched three times was taken by ambulance to the hospital for treatment. The accused was booked at the Green Street precinct and held overnight for arraignment. He was released on his own recognizance at arraignment with a return court date of June 25. A temporary order of protection was issued barring the suspect from any contact with the victim.
Officers responded at 7:17 a.m. to a verbal domestic dispute between a mother and adult daughter on Gatto Drive. Domestic Incident Report prepared. Due to the presence of a child, Child Protective Services was notified and advised to follow up regarding family issues and living conditions.
Report received at 2:08 p.m. of persons at Byram Lake possibly swimming there. Upon arrival, an officer observed a small group of people but no one was in the water. The group was determined to be CUNY students looking to sample lake water for a class project. The students were advised they were on restricted property and they left without incident.
Officers responded to Spring Street at 9:40 p.m. on a report of a criminal mischief at a residence. After investigation, a juvenile was charged with criminal contempt in connection with violating a court order and with criminal mischief for deliberately damaging a cell phone and TV set. The youth was processed at the Green Street precinct and released to a relative pending a future appearance in Westchester County Family Court.
An anonymous caller made a complaint at 5:57 a.m. about a “loud chicken” on or near West Main Street. No noise condition was found by a responding officer.
A crossing guard was injured at 8:33 a.m. when she was struck by a motorist who was making a left turn from Main Street onto Smith Avenue. The crossing guard was conscious and alert upon arrival of police and EMS. She was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital for treatment of a leg injury. The vehicle that struck her was operated by a 71-year-old Mamaroneck man. Investigation continuing.
Officers responded to Barker Street at 12:01 p.m. on a complaint that a man was violating a court-issued order of protection. A resident reported that her ex-boyfriend was in front of her building hours after a court-approved property retrieval occurred and that she was unable to leave for work. A 40-year-old White Plains man was taken into custody and charged with criminal contempt, second degree. He was booked at the Green Street precinct and held for arraignment in Mount Kisco Justice Court. A Domestic Incident Report was prepared and Lethality Screening conducted. At arraignment that evening, bail was set at $2,500, which the man posted. He was released on bail pending a July 6 appearance in village court.
Officers responded to Moore Avenue at 2:35 p.m. to assist the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office with an investigation. A search warrant was served for a garage behind a home there and stolen tires valued at $2,400 were recovered. A 45-year-old Moore Avenue resident was charged by Westchester County Police with criminal possession of stolen property, fifth degree. After being booked at the Green Street precinct, the man was released pending a July 16 appearance in Mount Kisco Justice Court.
A woman called police at 7:10 p.m. to report that she was locked inside a business in the 200 block of Main Street. She told officers that she was using the restroom and discovered that all employees had left while she was doing so. Condition corrected.
