BEDFORD, N.Y. - Widely celebrated for its artistic spirit and stunning beauty, the town of Bedford will feature a day of art, shopping and festivities at its inaugural Art Crawl on Oct. 19.
Set against the backdrop of its three historic hamlets, Katonah, Bedford Village and Bedford Hills, the Bedford Art Crawl promises a day filled with exceptional artisans, lively music and exhibits.
With more than 60 local artists and artisans representing a diverse array of art forms—from painting and pottery to photography, vintage finds, leather goods, stationery, jewelry and beyond, the hamlets will each offer their own unique experiences.
Arts Westchester will also provide its Mobile Art truck, providing impromptu art classes for adults.
Day-trippers can take the train to Katonah or Bedford Hills, where they will be transported directly to the Art Walk
“Inspired by Katonah’s Fall Art Walk, where we typically attract hundreds of visitors, I am thrilled that Bedford is expanding to a townwide event and showcasing the extensive roster of talent in our area. Inviting artisans from around the region has contributed to the success of the Katonah Art Walk and we are thrilled to expand this to a town-wide event,” said Casey Carter, president of the Katonah Chamber of Commerce and owner of Bijou Fine Jewelry.
“Bedford is a magnet for creativity and talent. With Caramoor, the Katonah Museum of Art and the Bedford Playhouse serving as cornerstones for the arts, our ability to now bring together local artists, exhibits and merchants is a perfect example of what makes Bedford unique and special,” added Supervisor Ellen Calves.
The Bedford Art Crawl will run from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. Each hamlet will feature different artisans and live music and local shops will be open for business, dining and drinks.
