The Mount Kisco Reading Series returns Friday, Sept. 25, at 7 p.m. at Curio Room, 141 Main St., Mount Kisco. Presented by the Mount Kisco Arts Council and Curio Room, the evening features readings by local writers and an opportunity to connect with the local literary community. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
The Bedford Historical Society will host its second annual Flannel & Fire fundraiser Saturday, Sept. 26, from 6:30–9:30 p.m. on the Village Green. The evening will feature food, drinks, fire and community gathering, with guests encouraged to wear their favorite flannel. Ticket levels range from $100 for junior guests ages 21–26 to $170 for nonmembers, with food and drinks included. Proceeds support the Historical Society and its work preserving Bedford’s historic character.
The Pound Ridge Historical Society continues its Revolutionary War Lecture Series with historian and educator Michael DiMinno on Sunday, Oct. 4, from 4–5:30 p.m. at Pound Ridge Library, 271 Westchester Ave. Presented in honor of Rev250, DiMinno will explore the Battle of White Plains and its place in the American Revolution. Redline Swing returns to Redline Music Stage at K1 (333 N. Bedford Road, Mount Kisco) on Wednesday, Oct. 7.. A dance lesson begins at 7 p.m., followed by live music from 8 to 10 p.m. Admission is $18 early bird, $22 in advance and $28 at the door. All are welcome; no partner is needed. Swingout Rhythm Dance Club is spreading the joy of Lindy Hop and related styles in the lower Hudson Valley area with weekly classes, monthly social dances, and special workshops while building community.
