Rose Anastasia Taranto, lovingly known as Roseann, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2024, at the age of 82, with her family by her side. Born on March 28, 1942, in New York, New York, Roseann lived a life full of love, warmth, and devotion to her family and friends.

Roseann was the beloved daughter of the late Michael Lauria and Catherine Anastasia Cuccinello-Lauria, affectionately remembered as “Nanny Katie”, who later remarried Louis Barletti, lovingly remembered as “Poppy Lou.” She was preceded in death by her brothers Michael, Dominic, and Nicholas, as well as her brothers-in-law Frank Taranto and Frank Duffy, and sisters-in-law Rose, Margarite, and Marie.

Roseann is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, John Joseph Taranto of Brewster, NY, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and partnership, having been married on June 1, 1963. She is also survived by her four loving children: Lori Ann Camp (Anthony) of Fort Montgomery, NY, Michele Cook (Dennis Larry) of Northport, FL, John Claude Taranto (Sereniti Dobson) of Norwalk, CT, and Louis Taranto (Sarah Mascio) of New Milford, CT.

Her cherished grandchildren—Larry, Veronica, Travis, Katie, Ally, Olivia, Thomas, and Mariah—and her great-granddaughter Penelope were a constant source of joy and pride. Roseann’s life was filled with love for her family, including many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews

A graduate of Dodge High School in the Bronx, Class of 1959, Roseann went on to work as a secretary for Beneficial Finance and later as a dispatcher for the Brewster School’s Transportation Department. Above all, she was a devoted wife and mother, always putting her family first.

In her free time, Roseann enjoyed knitting, baking Christmas cookies with her grandchildren, and playing her favorite game, “Candy Crush.” She loved spending time at the casino, vacationing at Villa Roma, and wintering in Sarasota, FL. Her days were filled with joy watching her grandchildren’s sporting events, spending time with her close friends, and never missing an episode of her favorite soap opera, *Days of Our Lives*.

Roseann’s kind spirit, love of life, and devotion to her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
