Domenica Crecco of Mahopac, NY passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at the age of 88. She was born on May 28, 1938 in Ripi, Italy; daughter of the late Luigi and Antonia Imperioli Bauco.
She came to the United States and reconnected with Americo Crecco, whom she knew from their hometown of Ripi, Italy. Following courtship, they were married on February 17, 1957 in New York and settled in the Bronx until moving to Mahopac in 1973.
Domenica was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church in Mahopac. She enjoyed joining Americo in tending their prized garden at home; dancing, sewing and watching the soap operas, especially “Days of Our Lives”.
Above all, Domenica cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to cook and took great pleasure in seeing the joy that she brought to her family as they sat around the table together enjoying a meal and each other’s company.
Domenica is survived by her son John and his wife Elena, daughter Lisa Dutra and her husband Rick, her grandchildren Stephanie Scott (Donte), Michael Dutra (Meredith), Danielle Martinez (Victor), Marisa Vaillant (Trae), and John Crecco (Laura); and her great grandchildren Maddie, Bella, Mia, Wesley, Khade, Hope, and Brooke. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Americo on May 1 of this year and her brother, Girolamo and sister, Angelina earlier.
