Maryann LaPorte of Brewster, NY, passed away Monday, February 24, 2025, in Carmel, NY at the age of 79.
Maryann was born July 31, 1945, in Bronx, NY, daughter of the late Mary Blum. She graduated from St. Barnabas High School in the Bronx in 1963, and then graduated from The Thorpe Secretarial School in 1964. Maryann married Ernest (Rich) LaPorte on October 15, 1966 at St. Barnabas Church in the Bronx. They bought a home together in Brewster in 1972 where they raised their two sons, Rich and Rob, and shared a beautiful life together. She was a loving wife and mother who gave of herself endlessly to her husband and sons. She was the adoring grandmother to 7 grandchildren who loved her dearly. Maryann loved to entertain and cook for everyone that came into her home. She loved spending time with her family and friends in her kitchen where she would feed everyone , her most favorite thing to do. She worked as a receptionist at Putnam Hospital and then Northeast Eye Care in Brewster where she worked for thirteen years before retiring and becoming a full time grandma. She was so full of love and kindness for everyone she knew. She was so generous and always ready to help anyone that needed anything. She will be dearly missed and remembered by all who knew her.
Besides her husband Ernest, Maryann is survived by her sons, Richard LaPorte and his wife Maria of Eastchester, NY and Robert LaPorte and his wife Michele of Pawling, NY and her grandchildren Isabella, Nicholas, Benjamin, Caleb, Levi, Naomi and Haven. She was predeceased by her brothers, Sonny and Sal Blum.
Visitation and service will take place on Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster, NY.
