Frederick Joseph Turrin of Somers, New York, passed away peacefully at home on November 5, 2024. Born on March 9, 1937 in Manhattan, New York, Fred was the son of Albino Turrin, born 1906 in Italy, and Josephine Anselmi, born 1901 in New York. He was predeceased by his brother Armand Turrin, his cousin Jerry Borsotti and his son in law, David Boulboulle.
Fred leaves behind his devoted wife of 66 years, JoAnn, his children, Tina Campbell, Michael Turrin (Kathy), Mary Boulboulle, and Scott Turrin (Kate); his cherished grandchildren, Jackie Means (Aaron), Jake Turrin (Kaye), Jessie Tavolilla (Adam), Angela Boulboulle, Gianna Turrin and Jack Turrin.
Fred attended Mount St. Michael Academy in New York, College of Holy Cross in Worchester, Massachusetts, and New York University where he received a Master's in Business Administration in June 1966.
From 1959 to 1963, Fred proudly served in the U.S. Air Force, where he rose to the rank of captain and was honorably discharged. He then enjoyed a fulfilling 36-year career in finance, working for notable companies such as General Foods, Izod, Singer and ultimately serving as the Vice President of Finance at D'Agostino Supermarkets. A caring man, loved by all who knew him, Fred treasured his Italian heritage, making four memorable trips to Italy with his wife, JoAnn, and his cousin, Jerry. Above all, Fred valued family and treasured the time spent with his children and grandchildren. He will be missed very much.
