Cassidy-Flynn Funeral Directors is honored to serve the family of Francis "Frank" Robert Mazzuca who passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. We offer our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.
Frank "Chick" Mazzuca was born in Yonkers, New York to the proud parents of Sal and Corinda Mazzuca on January 4, 1947. He was their only child.
Frank attended St. Denis Elementary school in Yonkers. He then graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx and upon graduation, he attended Manhattan College where he majored in Physical Education and received multiple Masters Degrees.
He met Laurie Florio and they were married on May 21, 2012.
Frank began his career at Fox Lane Middle School in Bedford. He then worked at Rockland BOCES as a special education supervisor. He went on to work for 13 years as an assistant principal in the Nanuet Public Schools before taking over as the Athletic Director at Nanuet High School where he eventually retired in 2020.
Frank was a strong supporter of the New York Special Olympics where he received many awards and accolades. Frank was also an avid sports lover. Whether it was playing, sitting on the sidelines, or refereeing, there was a good chance you would find him on a field or in a gymnasium somewhere in Westchester County.
Frank touched many lives and will surely be missed by many. He leaves to mourn his passing: his wife Laurie, stepson Anthony, his former wife Joann and their two children, Darren and Lauren, along with their spouses Alaina and Ricky and his six grandchildren Isabella, Jack, Amanda, Natalie, Luke and Lily.
Family and friends were invited to a visitation for Frank at Cassidy-Flynn Funeral Directors located at 288 East Main Street, Mt. Kisco, NY on Monday, January 20.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at St. Francis of Assisi Church located at 2 Green Street, Mt. Kisco, NY 10549.
