Edwin G. Hellgoth of Carmel passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at the age of 84. He was born in the Bronx.
Ed graduated from St. John’s University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree. He served honorably in the United States Army and the Army National Guard as a reservist from 1963 to 1967. He worked at Consolidated Edison in Manhattan for 30 years before retiring as the director of data processing.
Ed was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church in Mahopac for the past 55 years. He enjoyed boating with his late wife, Claire, and other friends on the Long Island Sound. Ed was friendly, kind and loved by all.
Ed is survived by his three children, John (wife Marie), Laura (husband Marc) and Linda (husband Michael), as well as his three grandsons, Nicholas, Christopher and Alexander.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on May 9 at St. John the Evangelist Church in Mahopac with interment at Calvary Cemetery, Woodside, Queens.
