Donald Eugene Merlini passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at the age of 87. Donald was born in New York City on January 8, 1937 to John Merlini and Adele Pavesi. He is predeceased by his loving wife Anne (Coppola). Donald is also survived by his two sons Stephen and Anthony (Michele), and 3 beloved grandchildren Danielle, Anthony and Isabelle. His brother Louis and sister in-law Rena predeceased him, as did his wife's siblings Maria (Chris) and Thomas (Carole). He leaves a gap in the hearts of his remaining Coppola siblings Anthony (Joanne), Louise Cavanaugh (Robert), Louis (Carole), and he has been the loving uncle to Paul (Suzanne) and Lauraine Lucchessi (John), Kathy Cavanaugh, Laurie Cavanaugh, Vincent (Alexia), Anthony (Adele), Angela Gotfried (Ed), Michael LaStella (Tanja), Jennifer Lynch (Gary), Angela (Peter), Melissa Matkovic (Michael), Louis (Jenna), Jessica (Chris), Dominick (Lindsay) and Thomas (Melissa).

Donald was an X-ray repairman and traveled all over the lower part of New York State, parts of Connecticut and New Jersey fixing and installing this equipment in hospitals and small doctors offices. He loved spending time with family and friends, listening to old music, and singing along whenever he had the chance. He was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi parish and had been a singer in the choir for many years. Donald was a member of the Italian American club of Northern Westchester and he served in the US Army. Donald loved working with electronics and woodworking in his spare time. He also loved hunting, old movies, animals, bocce, spending time outdoors, and had great love for the USA and History. Donald could be seen on a regular basis walking the streets of Mt. Kisco and stopping in to visit people along the way for a quick laugh and a smile. More recently, he could also be spotted walking in Yorktown or around Uncle Giuseppies picking up some delicacies. His friends, children, grandchildren, siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews will miss him terribly.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Tuesday November 19th from 4:00 PM to 7:00PM at Cassidy-Flynn Funeral Home located at 288 East Main Street, Mount Kisco NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be begin at 10:00 AM on Wednesday November 20th, 2024 at St. Francis of Assisi Church located at 2 Green Street, Mount.Kisco, NY. Burial will follow at Saint Francis Cemetery located on Lexington Avenue in Mount Kisco.
