Sadly, our beloved, Crystal Rose (Callejas) DiGiovanni, 61, of Brewster, NY, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Crystal was born on March 29, 1963, to Norma (Ferrer) Serrano in Bronx, NY.
Crystal graduated from Sachem High School, Lake Ronkonkoma in 1981, and continued on to Westchester Community College for courses in Accounting. In her young adult life, Crystal held several positions with various companies as a Bookkeeper. Later in life, she worked for 20 years with the Brewster Central School District, holding positions such as Recess Aid, Special Education Aid, and Kindergarten Aid. Additionally, she translated for many Spanish speaking families and assisted with ESL classroom work. Crystal was passionate about her job and sought to have an impact on each child she had the privilege to educate.
Crystal married Anthony DiGiovanni on September 8, 1989, in New Rochelle, NY. During their 35-year marriage, they created their home in Brewster, NY and welcomed their two children, Anthony and Mikaela. Crystal was an extremely proud spouse to a Naval Veteran, and mother to Army and Marine Corps Veterans. Crystal devoted her life to raising her family and creating a home filled with warmth and love.
In her spare time, Crystal enjoyed expressing her creativity through crafting, crocheting, and decorating. Additionally, she loved listening to lively music, dancing the Hustle, and cooking.
Remaining to cherish Crystal’s memory are, her devoted husband, Anthony DiGiovanni; children, Anthony Jordan DiGiovanni (Marlena), and Mikaela Arin DiGiovanni Alvarez (Damon); grandchildren, Noah, Daniel, Tony, and Baby arriving June 2025.
Crystal is predeceased by her loving mother, Norma (Ferrer) Serrano.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster NY 10509
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Crystal’s memory may be directed to Putnam Humane Society, Carmel.
